About the product
66009 - BASECOAT SPARKLING GLASS: Achieve Stunning Silver/Chromium Finish. A one-component matte base coat that delivers a remarkable silver/chromium plating effect.
This base coat serves as an ideal foundation for overcoating with low VOC Refinish clearcoats available within the Lechler product range, designed for creating an impressive chromium plating effect on various substrates.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
The substrate preparation must ensure the best uniformity and specular reflection of the surface. On pre-existing non-solvent sensitive coatings apply primer fillers and sealers from the MACROFAN system; solvent-sensitive coatings should be completely removed. Allow the primer to dry up and sand as follows.
wet-on-wet: finish with sandpaper P 600-800
dry-on-dry: finish with sandpaper P 400
Degrease with 00665 HYDROCLEANER SLOW / 00699 HYDROCLEANER.
Respect the following instructions:
Apply 2K finishes from the MACROFAN system in any color to obtain a smooth and bright surface.·
Allow to flash off for 24 h at 20°C and overcoat with 66009 BSB SPARKLING GLASS (the lacquer must be dry, but not completely cross-linked). If the substrates do not need any high filling, apply sealers from the MACROFAN system in any color and after no more than 20-40 min. flash-off overcoat directly with 66009 SPARKLING GLASS basecoat.
DO NOT SAND, DO NOT TOUCH THE SURFACE WITH YOUR HANDS TO AVOID TO REPRODUCE FINGERPRINTS. THE SURFACE TO PAINT MUST BE SPECULAR
Application: By spray.
Its ready for use: Shake the can thoroughly before use to ensure complete dispersion of the metallic pigment. Due to the unique characteristics of the pigment, it's recommended to open the can with care.
