how to paint your radiator
To achieve the best results when painting your radiator, you will need sandpaper (grain 180), masking paper or foil and tape, a cleaning agent such as a general-purpose cleaner, microfiber cloths for wiping, and a suitable radiator spray paint or metal paint like PU enamel gloss 50. If you are making a significant color change or the surface is in poor condition, a primer or adhesion promoter may be necessary.
preparation and application tips
Start by turning off the radiator and allowing it to cool completely. Thoroughly dust the radiator, including behind it. Clean and degrease the surface, removing any old paint or rust. Sand stubborn residues with sandpaper (grain size 120-180) to improve adhesion. After sanding, clean the surface again to remove dust and particles. Cover the surrounding area to protect from overspray. If using spray paint, store the can at room temperature before use, shake vigorously for 2-3 minutes, and test the color on an inconspicuous area. Hold the spray about 25 cm from the surface and apply several thin cross coats to avoid runs. Ensure good ventilation during application and allow the paint to dry completely before turning the radiator back on to avoid odors.
