About the product
Auto Glass Butyl Sealer or window mounting tape for direct mounting of windshields and rear windows without fixed rubber profile. Butyl sealer tape is used for immediate gluing when directly mounting windscreens (without gasket).
The weatherproof butyl tape has excellent adhesion and controlled compressibility for easy installation. It can also be used to reduce vibrations and rattling noises. The window mounting tape is permanently elastic.
Window mounting tape is permanently elastic and is temperature resistant between -30 °C and +90 °C.
Here's how you do it
Remove the windshield or backlight. Make sure the glass is free of oil, dust or grease.
If any, clean with 3M™ 08984 Adhesive Cleaner.
Use 3M™ 08642 primer on pinchweld for best adhesion. Apply 3M™ 08617 primer to glass.
Apply sealer to pinchweld. Place the windshield on the pinchweld and use hand pressure to secure completely
