About the product
BSB Chroma Flash is an HS matt basecoat designed for two-coat mica/pearl coatings, perfect for achieving a stunning iridescent, color-changing effect. This innovative product is meant to be overcoated with low VOC refinish clearcoats from the Lechler range, providing a high gloss and long-lasting aesthetic appeal.
Ideal for two-coat systems, BSB Chroma Flash delivers a unique, dynamic color change depending on the viewing angle. It's perfect for those seeking a special iridescent finish with exceptional durability.

Substrate Preparation
For non-solvent-sensitive existing coatings:
Insulate with MACROFAN HS HIGH FILLER 5:1 (04706-710) or MACROFAN HS COLOR HIGH FILLER (MAC71).
Dry thoroughly and sand:
Wet: Finish with grit paper P600-800
Dry: Finish with grit paper 400
Degrease with HYDROCLEANER SLOW (00665) or HYDROCLEANER (00699).
For MAC71 undercoat color 7777711:Overcoat directly with BSB Chroma Flash.
For traditional fillers (04706-710):
- Apply black MACROFAN UHS (MC081).
- Allow to dry and rub down slightly with Scotch-Brite.
- Apply BSB Chroma Flash.
When surface conditions are optimal:
- Apply sealer like MACROFAN HS COLOR ISOSEALER (MAC85) or MACROFAN HS COLOR UNDERCOAT (MAC9) in the undercoat color 7777711 and overcoat with BSB Chroma Flash in a “wet-on-wet” cycle.

- BSB Chroma Flash: 1000 parts
- Thinner Auto Refinishing (00740–00741–00742–00755): 800-1000 parts
- Spray Viscosity (20°C): 14-15” DIN 4
- Air Cap Size: 1.2 - 1.5 mm; HVLP: 1.3 mm
- Number of Coats: 2
- Film Thickness: 20-25 µ
- Theoretical Coverage: 1L or 1kg mixture covers 8.5 - 9 m² at 20 µ
- VOC Compliance: Ready for use 840 g/l, product contains at most 785 g/l VOC
Note: To avoid compromising the final appearance, apply two normal coats without achieving complete coverage.
Drying Time
- Allow 20-30 minutes to 24 hours at 20°C before applying the clearcoat.
Overcoat With
- Use low VOC refinish clearcoats from the Lechler range for best results.
Notes
For optimal performance, avoid exposing the freshly painted substrate to harsh conditions within the first few days post-painting. Ensure the film reaches complete cross-linking before exposure to high humidity, frost, or aggressive agents such as smog, detergents, and road salts.
