Ml920 Megalack Uhs Clearcoat

ML920 Megalack UHS Clearcoat is a two-component ultra-high-strength acrylic clearcoat. This colorless clear coat is suitable for two-layer finishing of the car's paintwork.

Properties:

High Solid, High coverage (can be applied in one layer), Good application. Good vertical stability. Good aesthetic appearance. Good weather resistance. Easy to work with.

Substrate pretreatment: For surfaces that have already been painted with Hydrofan or BSB matt base color.

Application: Spraying.

Technical specifications:

Pot life at 20°C: 1.5-2 hours
Spray viscosity at 20°C: 20-23” DIN 4
Air nozzle: conventional 1.2-1.4 mm; HVLP 1.3 mm
Air pressure: conventional 4 Atm; HVLP 2 Atm
Number of layers: ½ layer + 1 regular layer or 2 regular layers
Recommended film thickness: 30-50 μ (Higher film thickness than recommended may cause pinholes, therefore follow carefully what is suggested)
Drying time:

Air drying at 20°C:

Dust-free: 30-45 minutes

Handling: 6-8 hours

Thorough drying: 24 hours

Low bake at 60°C (object temperature): 30-35 minutes

IR lamps (always follow the manufacturer's instructions on the lamps):

Drying: 7-8 minutes

Maximum effect: 15-17 minutes

Distance: 60-80 cm

To speed up drying, MT167 Macrofan UHS Speedy Accelerator can be added

by replacing the thinner with up to a maximum of 5%. This addition reduces the pot length of the prepared product.

Polishing: After 24 hours of air drying or after low baking, wait approximately one hour until the car has reached room temperature again. Then remove any dirt and polish.

Observations:

If drying occurs at a temperature lower than 60°C, the car should not be exposed to harsh conditions in the first days after painting.

Until the film has achieved complete cross-linking, washing as well as high humidity such as dew, frost and aggressive substances (smog, detergents, salt spread on roads) should be avoided.
