Sikatack Drive Purform Black

The windshield glue has passed the crash test according to FMVSS 212 with a 101 kg test dummy, which covers 95% of the population (standard is 78 kg). It is compatible with the activator and black primer process for optimal adhesion and is environmentally friendly with a low MAL code.

Note that this glue does not require an epoxy certificate, which makes it easy to use in a busy day at the car workshop.

SikaTack® DRIVE (Purform®) is based on Purform® technology, an industry-leading polyurethane with less than 0.1% monomer diisocyanate for a better working environment and continued focus on strength and safety.

SikaTack® DRIVE (Purform®) is a cold applied auto window adhesive that offers 60 minutes Minimum Drive-Away Time (MDAT).

It can be used all year round and is ideal for mobile or workshop use. SikaTack® DRIVE (Purform®) has been tested according to FMVSS 212 with a large mannequin representing 95% of the population. In the standard test, only 50% of the population is represented.

Note SikaTack® DRIVE (Purform®) should only be used by professional, experienced installers. This product and the process itself have been specially developed for replacing car windows. If the product is used for purposes other than replacing car windows, testing should be carried out on the items to be glued to ensure adhesion and material compatibility.

HARDENING MECHANISM

SikaTack® DRIVE (Purform®) hardens by reaction with atmospheric moisture. At low temperatures, the water content in the air is lower and the curing process is therefore somewhat slower

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE

SikaTack® DRIVE (Purform®) is resistant to fresh water, salt water, dilute acids and caustic solutions; short-term resistance to fuels, mineral oils, vegetable and animal fats and oils; not resistant to organic acids, glycol alcohol, concentrated mineral and caustic solutions or solvents.

APPLICATION METHOD

Preparation Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease and other contamination. Adhesion surfaces must be treated according to Sika's Activator or Black Primer installation process. Detailed information on the application and use of activators, primers etc. can be found in the respective data sheets. Windows without ceramic coating require suitable UV protection.

Application It is recommended to apply SikaTack® DRIVE (Purform®) with a battery or compressed air gun equipped with a plunger. Note that viscosity increases at low temperatures. For easy application, the glue should be at the same temperature as the surroundings during application. To ensure uniform thickness of the glue string, we recommend that the glue is applied as a triangular string (see technical data sheet). The open time is significantly shorter in hot and humid climates. The glass must therefore always be fitted within opening hours. The glass must never be installed after the glue has skinned.

Cleaning Uncured SikaTack® DRIVE (Purform®) can be removed from tools and equipment with Sika® Remover-208 or another suitable solvent. After tempering, the material can only be removed mechanically. Hands and exposed areas are cleaned immediately with Sika® Cleaner-350H or a suitable industrial hand cleaner. Do not use solvents on the skin!
