Teknodur Primer 3420

Teknodur Primer 3420 is reaction drying 2K polyurethane primer. Used as a primer for steel, aluminium, zinc and polyurethane cell plastic or as a primer / sealer for the treatment of MDF.

Provides excellent adhesion to the above materials and effective protection against corrosion of steel in conjunction with a suitable topcoat.

Also provides a pore-tight, hard and impact-resistant surface that is also elastic. Effective protection against water absorption when used on MDF.

Pretreatment

The surfaces are cleaned of impurities that can be harmful for pretreatment and application. In addition, water-soluble salts are removed by suitable methods. The surfaces of the various materials are pre-treated as follows:

COLD-ROLLED SURFACES: The surfaces are treated with a suitable cleaning agent.

HOT ROLLED STEEL: Blast cleaned or sandblasted to degree of cleaning SA 2½ according to the standard ISO 8501-1:1988.

HOT-DIP GALVANIZED STEEL: Hot-dip galvanized steel structures that are exposed to the weather can be painted if the surface is sandblasted (SaS), so that the entire surface becomes matt.

Suitable blowing agents are e.g. aluminum oxide and natural sand. The paint is not recommended for galvanized structures that must be immersed in water or soil. ALUMINUM: Suitable chemical pretreatment.

Recommended shop primer: KORRO SS 3120. POLYURETHANE CELL PLASTIC: The plastic must be free of release agents, propellants and dust. MDF: Sanding with grain 240.
