About the product
Teknos Antistain Aqua 2901-00 is a water-dilutable priming product for spraying outdoor woodwork, such as windows and doors (Hardwood, Softwood). ANTISTAIN AQUA 2901-00 reduces discoloration of the surface from ingredients in hardwood.
Pretreatment
The wood must be free of wood dust and dirt. The moisture content of the wood must be approx. 13% and must not exceed 15%. Wooden substrates that do not meet durability class 3, EN 350:2016 must be pre-treated. Teknos has a range of wood preservatives which meet the requirements of EN 599. Please contact Teknos for further guidance.
In order to achieve improved wetting of open-pored wood, pre-treat the items with 1 x ANTISTAIN AQUA 2901-52 before spraying them with ANTISTAIN AQUA 2901-00.
Method of application
Airless spraying, Air-assisted airless spraying, Electrostatic spraying.
Application conditions
Stir thoroughly before use. Optimum temperature for products and surroundings: +18 °C - +22 °C. Optimum relative humidity: approx. 50%. Wet film range 125-200 µm
Dilution The product is delivered ready for use.
Drying time +23 °C / 50 % RH
- handling dry 2-3 hours
- sanding and reprocessing dry 3-4 hours*
*As the layer thickness is of the greatest importance for the product's effectiveness, it is important not to sand the surface too much. The drying time can be reduced using special drying systems to accelerate drying. The listed times are indicative and may vary depending on wood quality, temperature, humidity, ventilation and layer thickness.
Note that primed items must always be finished with a topcoat before they are exposed to the weather.
