Headlight restoration

Over time, plastic headlight lenses can develop a yellow haze due to the polymers breaking down. This deterioration is caused by dirt, chemicals, and salt from the road as well as UV rays from the sun. With a Headlight Restoration kit, this yellowing can be eliminated quickly and affordably.

Polishing of headlights. Remove yellow haze.

This cloudy appearance on your headlights is not only a cosmetic issue — but it can also be dangerous. Hazy headlights can reduce visibility at night by up to 50%. The sooner you refurbish your headlights, the better. At LAKGRUPPEN we offer cost-effective solutions for brightening and clarifying your headlights to maximize their effectiveness.

No need to demounting your headlight

With this kit, the restoration can be done with the headlight lenses in a mounted state— no demounting is necessary. In our headlight restoration kits, you’ll find sanding and cleaning products to help restore the plastic to a clearer state. Also included is a 2K clear coat that protects against UV light. Apply this after sanding and cleaning. Please follow the instructions in the specific technical datasheet.

How to Restore Headlights

You can fix cloudy headlights in just a few easy steps. First, wash away any dirt, debris, or bugs with a gentle cleanser and wipe dry. Apply a thick layer of a headlight restoration polish or paste. Then, with a brush, gently work the product in using circular motions. If your headlights are badly scratched, you may need to sand them first and give them a topcoat layer.

Remember to check that it is possible with the material that your headlights are made of. Please pay attention to not all your headlight allows this type of restoration.
