Colorreader Color Meter

ColorReader is a handy little color meter for identifying colors with exceptional accuracy. The advanced color sensors combined with a feature-rich app create a versatile color tool that makes it easy to match and measure color.

Scan your color with ColorReader and get an instant color match to most paint brands, as well as Delta E, CIE Lab, RGB, Hex, CMYK, LRV and LCH measurements and RAL colors.

Included in the box: 1x ColorReader device, 1x Micro USB cable, 1x Calibration cap and instructions for setting up the device.

Achieve over 92% first-try accuracy, the ColorReader features an advanced optical lens and six high-CRI white LEDs that isolate and evenly illuminate colors for highly accurate first-try matching. The color meter is easy and convenient to have on site for projects and always with you when inspiration strikes.

Get started

Make sure your color meter is fully charged. These models of Colorreader come with lithium batteries, which you can recharge via the included USB cable.

When starting color measurement, make sure the protective lens cover is removed. Remove the black, screwed-on protective glass cover.

Turn on your ColorReader device. Press the small black button by the USB port. The indicator light next to it turns green when the device is on and fully charged.

Follow the prompts to sync your device to your smartphone.
Calibrate your device for the most accurate color measurement. ColorReader – The calibration tile is contained in the protective screw cap.

How to achieve the best results

Flat, smooth, solid color surfaces give you the most accurate color matching results from ColorReader.

Place the device flush against the surface you are measuring (touching it – not just pointing at it) to ensure that ambient light cannot enter, which can affect the accuracy of the color reading.

Textured surfaces such as stucco, woven fabrics and high gloss surfaces can affect color accuracy, as can gradient color surfaces.
If you are measuring a color on a pattern, make sure the portion of the color you are measuring is large enough (at least 0.635 x 0.635 cm) to ensure that the lens covers the surface completely.

Note that paint fades over time and may wear unevenly due to exposure to UV rays from sunlight, dirt, grime and used cleaning agents.
