Overspray Masking Liquid Dry 06847
About the product
3M Overspray Masking Liquid Dry (OMLD) masking film is a water-based protective film that forms a solid transparent film when dry.
Directions for Use - Application
The surface must be dry and free from silicone-based sealants. Apply the liquid masking film on the surface with a conventional paint gun with 1.8-2.2 mm stainless steel nozzle. The use of HVLP guns improves the yield of the material.
Coat the surfaces to be protected - housings, glass, wheels and tires, especially wheel arches. Apply an even, closed coat from a distance of 30 - 35 cm. Allow the liquid masking film to dry before placing masking paper on top. Cover 45 cm (60 cm on horizontal surfaces) around the area to be painted in the usual way.
Drying time:
approx. 15 minutes at 32° C
approx. 25 minutes at 21° C
approx. 40 minutes at 10° C
Removal
Use a water hose to completely wet and soak the surface for 1 to 2 minutes. This will assist in dissolving the OML-D. Then wash down the liquid masking film with plenty of water and a soft brush, soft sponge or pressurized cleaner. Do not allow the liquid masking film to dry back onto the surface once the removal process has begun.
Do not use OML-D on old oxidized paint surfaces, fabric tops and lacquer paints.
Also, do not apply OML-D over fresh paint (less than 30 days old)
