Use tack rags for removing dust

Most commonly, a tack rag cloth is highly recommended to be used before painting, priming, staining, or coating with varnish. Tack rags help ensure that your surface is free of imperfections before being coated. At LAKGRUPPEN, we supply a careful selection of tack rags that are used by many professionals around the world.

What use is tack rags

tack rag is a specialized type of wiping cloth that is treated with a tacky material. It is designed to remove loose particles of dust, dirt, and lint that would contaminate a surface that is to be painted, coated, laminated, photo-etched, or otherwise finished.

How to use a tack rag

Tack cloth is the best option for removing dust and sanding residues before painting, staining, or applying any other coating to a surface.

Before using tack cloth, make sure you wear disposable nitrile gloves so that the tacky residue doesn’t stick to your hands and keep the surface dust-free.

To properly use a tack rag, use very light pressure and wipe down one small area at a time. Pressing too hard with the cloth will cause the very sticky residue to transfer to the surface you’re working on, essentially defeating the purpose of this cleaning step.
