For single-layer treatment of sandblasted steel surfaces both indoors and outdoors. If even better anti-corrosive properties are required, the paint can be used together with TEKNOLAC AQUA PRIMER 2964.

The paint has good gloss and color resistance, and has good adhesion to primed objects. Can be applied in high layer thicknesses without risk of runners.

Pretreatment

The surfaces are cleaned of impurities that can be harmful to the surface treatment and the paint. In addition, water-soluble salts are removed by suitable methods. The surfaces of the various materials are subsequently pre-treated. STEEL SURFACES: Remove scale and rust by sandblasting to degree of cleanliness SA 2½ (standard ISO 8501-1). If the surface is roughened on thin sheets, adhesion is improved. Choose the place and time for the treatment, taking into account that the pre-treated surface does not become dirty or damp before the subsequent treatment.

Application:

Stir the paint carefully before use. Best applied with an airless sprayer or airmix/aircoat sprayer (nozzle 0.013-0.018”). The paint is applied evenly to the specified layer thickness. Pay particular attention when spraying edges, corners and welds. Small areas can be painted with a brush, but then an additional layer must be applied to achieve the specified layer thickness.

Application conditions:

The surface to be painted must be dry. The temperature of the air, the surface and the paint must be above +15 °C and the relative humidity 35-50%. Low humidity increases the risk of dry spraying and the coalescence can deteriorate. In addition, the temperature of the surface and the paint must be at least 3 °C above the dew point of the air

OTHER INFORMATION The paint must not be transported or stored at temperatures below +5 °C. Other instructions regarding pre-treatment of the surface can be found in the standards EN ISO 12944-4 and ISO 8501-2. Store frost-free.
